Time & Tide: TC Marcia
Update 12 Midnight, Thursday:
An extra high tide on Friday is scheduled for around 10.45am. At 2.7 metres its a classically a 'King' Tide independent of any other weather event.
TC Marcia is expected to make landfall between Mackay and Gladstone, lashing the areas with destructive gusts of up to 270 kilometres per hour (kph) at about 3:00am Friday before moving down the coast.
So far approximately 50mm has fallen on Beachmere from this event but some areas along Marcia's coastal route may receive up to 300 mm.
Caboolture River heights are still 'steady' but overnight that should change as the rain increases.
