The MBRC statement reads:
"Although the closing date for the draft planning scheme's public display period remains as Friday, 15 August, council will continue to receive submissions up to August 31," Mayor Allan Sutherland said. "We want to give property owners some extra time so they can provide us with their feedback."

Mayor Allan Sutherland today confirmed that council would continue to receive submissions on the draft planning scheme until the end of this month.
"Although the closing date for the draft planning scheme's public display period remains as Friday, 15 August, council will continue to receive submissions up to 31 August," he said.
"I know that there are property owners out there who want to have their say on aspects of the draft scheme, but are concerned about their ability to lodge a submission by Friday.
"We want to give property owners some extra time so they can provide us with their feedback.
"All submission will be carefully considered by council."
