Dugongs in Moreton Bay

I wanted to start collating information about the Beachmere environment.

I was out yesterday at Woody Point  on the RedCliffe Peninsular when I came upon this reference:
Early last century, an enormous herd of dugong, estimated at covering 13 square kilometres (5 square miles), was sighted off the coast of Brisbane, Australia.
Imagining that view, apparently from near Woody Point, needs to be updated by the fact that  Dugong are now threatened, especially in Moreton Bay.
